April news

I have been out in Europe on the Australia on Tour roadshow and the general consensus is very positive.  Flight prices remain high, but staff and customers are just beginning to accept this as the new normal (because it is!).  This results in less bookings but fuller itineraries as customers ‘make the most’ of their trips.  It also means that NZ and Australia are now likely to get customers with more funding behind them which has to work for products that represent a higher level.  The obvious downside is that less visitors/arrivals means less repeat customers.

May and June:

Trenz and ATE will be the big events coming in May.  Trenz does not look like having a great turnout this year, but I expect ATE to be as strong as ever so lots of follow up from that.  I will be attending an agent training event with ANZCRO in May.  There is also a post-ATE update from Tourism Australia in Frankfurt in June which I will be attending.
